The Ukrainian Air Force announced it has shot down three Russian Su-34 Fullback fighter-bombers.
If confirmed, this action would mark one of the most significant losses for the Russian Air Force in a single day in recent times. There is also unconfirmed speculation that American-made Patriot surface-to-air missiles may have been used in downing the aircraft.

The information was disclosed through the official social media accounts of the Ukrainian Air Force, which stated that the Su-34Ms were shot down while flying in the south direction. However, details about the type of armament used in the action were not specified.
On the other hand, Russian authorities have not yet confirmed these losses, and independent sources, including The War Zone portal, have also been unable to independently verify the Ukrainian claims. Concurrently, the Russian Fighterbomber channel on Telegram, known for its connections with the Russian air force, reported at least one “combat loss,” mentioning that search and rescue operations were underway.
Additionally, Russian sources on Telegram indicated, albeit without solid evidence, that the downings may have occurred in the Kherson region in southern Ukraine, a major point of conflict in the current war.
Images are also circulating on social media claiming to show one of the crash sites. It is believed that the photos might have been taken by Russian personnel who quickly arrived at the scene in Mi-8/Mi-17 Hip-series helicopters.
